TBC proudly participates with Operation Christmas Child (OCC) ministry, a branch of the Samaritan's Purse. OCC delivers great joy and the Good News of Jesus Christ to children in need around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes. Each box packed full of quality toys, school supplies, and personal care items becomes a tangible expression of God's immense love for the child. For many, it is their first gift ever! Delivered by local church partners, shoebox gifts provide an opportunity to present the Gospel to boys and girls in a clear, child-friendly way. Check out the 2023 OCC Report!
Families at TBC can participate with OCC in many ways:
- Pack a shoebox with your family
- Donate items for, and participate in, our Packing Party in October
- Volunteer at the Boones Creek Processing Center
Starting in 2024, TBC has expanded donation collection throughout the year.
Suggested items for shoe boxes:
- January - toys, stuffed animals, dolls
- February - Scarves, mittens, hats, etc
- March - Socks
- April - personal hygiene items (soap, wash clothes, etc)
- May - Sunglasses, hair accessories, combs, brushes
- June - Sewing kits, nail kits, tool kits
- July - school supplies (pencils, crayons, pens, etc)
- August - flip flops, etc
- September - t-shirts, shorts,
- October - toothbrush, holders, floss, etc
- November - re-usable eating utensils, cups
- December - purses, flashlights, tote bags, backpacks
